Abu Dhabi Parks
Here’s a list of family parks in Abu Dhabi where you can have some fun and recreation with your children, family or friends.
Mother of the Nation Park
Address: South part of the Old Airport Road, Al Mushrif, in front of the National Theater
Opening Hours: 3pm to 10pm
Fridays – 3pm to 9:30pm
Holidays – 9am to 12om and 3pm to 10pm.
Located near the Airport Road, this is a beautiful place to take your children. This park offers amusement rides, fountains and swings. You can bring your car and park it in the area. Mother of the Nation Park has an Animal Barn, Shade House, Botanic Garden, Amphitheatre, Evening Garden and a Children’s Garden.
Al Nahyan Garden
Address: Sheikh Zayed the First Street, Al Khalidiyah
Located near the Sheraton Khalidiya, Al Nahyan garden offers a specialized place where your children can have fun and enjoy nature.
Capital Gardens
Address: Opposite National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), Al Markaziyah
This is a renovated park that is located in the city center. There are slide and swings and a fountain on the large pond. There is a cafeteria to buy some refreshments in case you get hungry.
Khalidiyah Garden
Address: Al Khaleef Al Arabi Street, Al Khalidiyah
This is a large park which is great for families to hang out and have a picnic. It offers a variety of play equipment for children (both toddlers and for older kids). There are also many trees that provide shade while you enjoy a picnic.
Khalifa Park
Address: Salam Street
Opening Hours: 3pm to 10pm everyday
Entrance Fee: 1 AED per person
This is one of Abu Dhabi’s larger public parks. Khalifa Park is a major landmark that has fountains, canals, waterfalls and lakes. THere is a mini railway where you can ride and take a tour. Aside from the play areas for children and picnic facilities, you can visit the farden centre, outdoor auditorium or cafe.
Murjan Splash Park
Opening Hours: 3pm to 7pm weekdays
10 am to 7pm weekends
Entrance Fees: 40 AED
This is a great children’s amusement waterpark. Kid-friendly water-based attractions for up to 12 years old are available. Small waterslides, showers, floating river, etc.
Emirates Park Zoo
Address: Al Bahia
Opening Hours:
Entrance Fees: 25 AED/adult
10 AED/child
This zoo has over 1500 animals including lions, tigers, cheetahs, zebras, etc. It’s a great place to see some animals which is also educational for children.
Old Airport Garden
Address: Sheikh Zayed Sport Center, Al Madina, Al Riyadiya
A relaxing place for some quiet time, this park has a few swings and have some clean gardens. There is an ice-skating rink where you can also take your kids.
