On February 7 (Sunday), the Abu Dhabi government released an update regarding its ‘green list’ destinations as part of its safety measures for travel against COVID-19.
The number of countries on the list, originally from 17, is now down to 12.

Abu Dhabi Announces Updated ‘Green List’ Countries Exempted from Quarantine
Passengers coming from the ‘green list’ countries are not required to undergo quarantine upon arrival in the Emirati capital, the Gulf Business reported.
As per the latest report by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), seven countries have been removed from the list: Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Maldives, Thailand, Falkland Islands, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Meanwhile, Bhutan and Iceland have been included in the list.
It is also worth noting that the list applies to countries passengers are arriving from, rather than citizenship.
With that, countries, regions, and territories included within the ‘green list’ will be regularly updated based on international development, the statement said.
Inclusion in the list is subject to strict criteria of health and safety to ensure the well-being of the UAE community, it added.
To date, here is the updated list of Abu Dhabi’s ‘green’ countries, regions and territories:
- Australia
- Bhutan
- Brunei
- China
- Greenland
- Hong Kong (SAR)
- Iceland
- Mauritius
- Mongolia
- New Zealand
- Saudi Arabia
- Singapore
In line with this, DCT Abu Dhabi will also continue to issue updates on the list and overall travel status in the coming months, it said.
