Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy has recently launched a campaign which aims to promote the importance of saving water and electricity at home among all members of society.

The campaign introduced as the “#SaveAtHome” competition is giving away prizes worth AED 1,500 for those who can best share their experience in the rationalizing of water and electricity consumption at home.

Abu Dhabi Gov’t Launches Competition to Promote Saving Water and Electricity at Home, Big Prizes Up in Store
The competition is part of the Abu Dhabi government’s campaign “#UseItWisely” that was launched last July to raise the community’s awareness on the importance of preserving water and electricity and promoting energy efficiency principles in homes that promotes the preservation of natural resources and support energy security strategies in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, UAE state news agency, WAM, reported.
According to the department, in line with its goal to promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental conservation to develop the energy sector in Abu Dhabi, the competition will serve as an important step in raising community awareness of the importance of rationalizing energy and the benefits to the individual, society, and energy in Abu Dhabi.
To join the competition, participants should follow the Department of Energy’s account in Abu Dhabi on Instagram (@abudhabidoe), and like the post that announced the launch of the competition that was published on September 15, 2020.
Participants should also share some advice and their habits on how to help conserve water and electricity at home using their personal Instagram account. The post, which may come with a video or photo for better explanation, should also have a caption of not more than 40 words. Moreover, it must include the two hashtags #SaveAtHome, and #UseiItWisely, and refer the post to six other friends to encourage them to participate, as well as refer to the department’s Instagram account @abudhabidoe.
