Overseas Filipino workers across the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi, may qualify for $200 financial assistance from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) if their jobs or income have been affected by the ongoing Middle East situation.
Many OFWs in the UAE are now facing reduced work hours, shifting schedules, or smaller paychecks as businesses adjust operations. Workers in retail, hospitality, domestic work, and service industries are among those feeling the impact.

Who Is Eligible for Assistance
The DMW said the program is intended for OFWs whose employment has been directly affected.
This includes workers who:
- Lost their jobs, whether temporary or permanent
- Experienced reduced salary or delayed income
- Had shorter working hours
- Faced work disruptions
These situations are becoming more common as companies respond to lower demand and operational changes.
How Much Financial Aid Is Offered
Qualified applicants will receive a one-time USD 200 grant (around ₱12,000).
The cash aid is intended to help cover essential daily expenses such as food, transport, and basic needs while workers manage temporary income loss.
Document Requirements and Flexible Options
To apply, OFWs must prepare:
- Passport copy
- Proof of employment (contract, visa, or labor card)
They must also submit proof of impact, such as:
- Payslip showing reduced salary
- Employer certification of reduced work hours
- Notice of termination
If formal documents are not available, applicants may submit a self-declaration (sariling salaysay) or certification from Filipino community organizations.

The DMW is expected to release a Request for Assistance Form (RFA) for applicants to complete and submit.
